Setting: meta description
The meta description is a short introductory text about the topic of a specific page. This description will be shown in Google Search results as a paragraph under the URL. The purpose of this description is to invite the person who searched for a certain keyword to actually select the results and land on your page. It is like a pitch line.
Make sure you describe briefly (not more than 2 sentences) what can be found on your page. The meta description is aiding to make the content of a page even clearer. Don't forget to use your keyword here too.

In Google Search results the meta description is displayed below the search result in the small print, as shown for the example of Webnodes main page:

The meta keywords field under the meta description field in the SEO settings of the editor is no longer of importance. To often have keywords been over used or falsely used to gain better ranking. Google widely ignores settings for meta keywords. You can leave this field empty and instead concentrate on mentioning the keywords directly in the written text on the page!
