Measure your success
Congratulations! You know the foundations of SEO and how to optimize your pages. Before tackling the last step, there is one thing to pay attention to:
SEO is a continuous process. Even with setting up everything correctly now, we advise you to follow trends online to adjust your website accordingly. Optimization of a website never ends, it is part of the website maintenance. Similar how your car needs to pass the MOT every year, your website needs to be constantly updated and refined.
Measure success with statistics
With the purchase of a Premium Mini Package, Webnode offers statistics about your website. You can use this statistics to monitor trends, understand how often the site is visited and how people reached your site. Setting up SEO correctly, you will see a gradual raise in website visits over a longer period of time (months). Remember success is not instantaneously, SEO takes time.
This is why it is important not to look at statistics for individual days rather for the long term trend. To see a shorter version on how to use statistics go to our blog page.
With Webnodes statistics you can see how often your website is visited, as well as which exact pages (popular sites) are visited most. Furthermore, you will be able to distinguish referral sites and figure out, which visitors came from search engine results or other individual websites.

The image above shows you the type of referral site summarized as referring sources (direct traffic, search engines etc.) on the left and details about actual URL of the referring site on the right.

The graph displays the trend of website visitors in the last 12 months. As you can see in this example the trend is negative since the beginning of this year, despite a good start. Perhaps this website needs in update of its SEO settings.

Above you see how often visitors opened a specific page of a website in the last 12 months. The trend is negative.

The overview of most popular sites shows you which of your pages is mostly visited and which are ignored.
In case Webnodes statistics are not sufficient for you we recommend you to use other services such as Google Analytics. More information can be found in useful links.
Tip:
It is always better to measure some activity than to measure nothing at all.
If you already registered your website with the Google Search Console, you will receive further information from Google how you can analyze the activities on your pages. Please don't let yourself being confused by differences in numbers Google provide to our in-house statistics. Different tools measure statistics differently.
Important is the trend of the data. The trend must be uniform regardless the tools used.
